Many years ago, there was a small village, these villagers used to worship Kali religiously with love, they followed all the rituals and traditions to please the goddess. One fine day, they had a special cause of doing Kali puja, they followed all the rituals, they offered beautiful, rare and uniquely available flowers, heavy fancy clothes, attractive jewellery and a variety of cuisines. There was dance, music, laughter and a lot of joy. Just near that village was a deep, dark forest. In that forest lived an asur. He was a demon. He suddenly appeared in the middle of the whole gathering, tortured some villagers, took all the food and went. The next day, these villagers were busy arranging their farming and harvests, once again that asur appeared on the cliff and very loudly he said, “Mahakali, I am hungry! Give me food!” without another thing, that harvested food was given to the asur. This keeps happening every day… Finally the villagers were very fed up with the demon. They decided to call the goddess and sort this matter. They once again did all the rituals and the goddess appeared, all the villagers with full disappointment complained: “Why do you do this to us? You know that Asur is tormenting us! Taking away all our food! Harming us! Destroying our houses! Still you answer his prayers? Why don’t you punish him? What have we done? We worship you, respect you still why don't you answer our prayers? Where are we wrong?” Listening to all this, the Goddess smiled, she said: “The Asur is wrong, he will face his bad karma someday or the other, but the kind of faith he has while he asks for food, I get obliged to provide him with that! When you people pray.. You offer me the best of what you have, but still you somewhere lack the confidence with which you pray! That’s why I am unable to give you what you desire.”

So next time, whenever you pray, you pray with such confidence that God/Goddess whoever you believe in doesn’t turn you down, instead, they get obliged to answer your pray. Praying with confidence that our prayer will be answered no matter what is the art of praying!
